It is a procedure used to treat and diagnose certain heart conditions. 

During the process, a doctor inserts a long thin tube (catheter) through the radial artery which is a blood vessel in the arm. Then with the help of special X-RAY he threads this special kind of tube through the blood vessels all the way to the heart.  Depending on the reason for the procedure, this tube may have various tools attached to it. 

For instance, the doctor may put a special dye inside the catheter to take X-ray pictures of the arteries in your heart. The catheter equipped with a balloon attached to it which helps open up blockages in your heart’s arteries.
